The Rogers City Council is making significant strides in enhancing the community through various initiatives, focusing on downtown revitalization, infrastructure improvements, and commercial development.
Downtown Revitalization Efforts
Recognizing the importance of a vibrant downtown, the City Council has prioritized the revitalization of Main Street. A comprehensive Downtown Master Plan and Main Street Streetscape Plan have been developed to guide these efforts. The city has engaged consulting firms Loucks and SRF to assist in creating a Small Area Plan, aiming to transform downtown into a bustling hub for residents and visitors alike.
New City Hall and Police Complex
In a move to modernize city infrastructure, the council has approved the construction of a new 67,700-square-foot city hall and police complex. Terra Construction has been selected as the construction manager for this $40.5 million project, set to begin later this year on the former Boyer Truck Center site at 21701 Industrial Blvd. The new facility is expected to enhance the efficiency of city operations and provide improved services to the community.
Commercial Development Initiatives
The council is also fostering economic growth by approving plans for new commercial developments. Notably, a 9,100-square-foot multi-tenant retail center adjacent to Maintenance Restaurant has been greenlit. This project will feature quick-service restaurants, retail spaces, and a drive-thru, contributing to the city’s expanding commercial landscape. Additionally, Oppidan Development is moving forward with a 117,000-square-foot speculative industrial building at 20061 Vevea Road, further boosting local employment opportunities and the tax base.
These initiatives reflect the City Council’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Rogers through thoughtful planning and development.
